I wondered how to begin this journey…again. I started this project 4 years ago from a place of exasperation and desperate hope for more…for better…for meaningful life. I was in need of a space to connect and inspire. Judging from my circle of friends, I wasn’t the only one. Our first run was amazing, although short-lived. It’s four years later and now, I’m here. Ready to do it again.
What started out as a multi-authored blog has turned, well…personal. The truth is it was always personal, but I was afraid to fully commit to what I believed God was telling me to do. (I think I’m related to Jonah somewhere in my bloodline.) Something like this requires you to be real, straight no filter. But, that can be hard when you haven’t finished going through your own growth process and I clearly wasn’t finished.
I knew amazing people with stories to tell and experiences to share that could transform lives. So, I brought on men and women who were courageous in their approach to life and in their desire to make a difference. They had and have made a difference in my life. I’m so thankful for each one of them. It is because of their influence in writing and sharing their hearts along with seasons, yes seasonssssss, of prayer, that I now have the courage to answer the call. (I think they call that commitment.) Finally! (Don’t judge me. LOL.)
The purpose of life is to live it, to taste experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and without fear for newer and richer experiences. ~Eleanor Roosevelt
At 40+ I realize life is not over. It’s just getting started. It’s time for the second lifetime. Thank God 40+ is different and promises to be even more amazing than the first 40 or so years of life. I invite you to join me on this journey…I might even call it an expedition – a safari at some time, a desert many times and an oasis at other times. I have some friends who will be stopping in every so often to share their experiences as well. We’re all on a mission to make the second lifetime triple-dare amazing.
There have been many changes over the years: career, relationships, family and friends – losses and gains. Each circumstance brought with it life lessons and demanded personal growth or defeat. So here we are – you, me and this thing called life. How are you going to respond to it? How are you going to respond to the call of your destiny? If you find yourself needing a change, are in the middle of change, or you’re just like “Hey! Enough is enough,” then this is the place for you. We’re about to set this world on fiyaaaaahhhhhh!!! (In my Alicia Keys voice.)
Please share the blog with your friends. Life is better together. We have some great things planned for the Live Your Life Project and we want you to be a part of it. You get one life to live, so you better start living it now. Today is the best day to live your life and today is another chance to get it right. I love you! Now, let’s get it!
